Guyana Help The Kids (GHTK) was established in 2007 and is a registered Canadian Charity with the goal of decreasing the neonatal and infant mortality in developing countries.
During the visits of Dr. Narendra Singh and his wife Dr. Shirley Sit to Guyana, they were saddened to learn of the percentage of neonatal deaths occurring at the Hospitals in Guyana. In addition, they saw that the NICUs (Neonatal Intensive Care Units) were poorly equipped and lacked life-saving equipment that is standard in NICUs in Canada.
Our Mission is to decrease the neonatal and infant mortality rates in developing countries, starting in Guyana. We will make sustainable change by focusing on comprehensive education of healthcare professionals and assist their efforts to save lives with specialized equipment and ongoing training.
“Every child deserves a Tomorrow”
At GHTK we value the life of every mother and child, and we will engage and empower those who are the primary caregivers for mothers and babies by providing leadership and education to help them reach their goals in serving paediatric patients in Guyana and beyond.

Since the inception of GHTK in 2007, through the belief of our donors and volunteers in what we do, we have been able to raise over $1.5 million which has directly benefited the babies and children in Guyana. We have truly lived our vision and reduced infant mortality by 40%. That is staggering for a country the size of Guyana – and with your help, we will be able to help so many more babies and children!
